Three women Maoists were killed on Thursday in a gun battle with security forces in Narayanpur district in Chhattisgarh.
The gunfight ensued at around 8 am in the forest of Abhujmad located on the border of Narayanpur and Kanker districts, Narayanpur Superintendent of Police Prabhat Kumar said.
The Special Task Force (STF), the District Reserve Guard (DRG) and the Border Security Force (BSF) were involved in the operation.
The bodies of the three women clad in ‘uniform’ along with a huge cache of weapons were recovered from the spot.
So far, 145 Maoists have been gunned down by security forces in Chhattisgarh this year.
