Fresh spell of rains commences in Bhopal, elsewhere in MP

The spell of rains started once again in the state, 14 districts of the state including Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain received rainfall. Ratlam received the maximum rainfall of 1.5 inches.

Damoh-Ujjain received 45 minutes of rain and Jabalpur-Guna received half an inch of rain. Khajuraho, Narsinghpur, Satna, Sidhi, Shajapur, Umaria, Malajkhand, Indore, Khandwa also received rain.

A strong system will remain active in the state for the next 4 days. In some areas of Bhopal, bright sunshine came out after drizzle in the morning. It started raining again in the evening.

The Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted very heavy rains in 4 districts Anuppur, Dindori, Mandla and Balaghat where  up to 8 inches of rainfall could be recorded in 24 hours. Heavy rains can also occur in more than 25 districts of the state.

According to senior meteorologist the monsoon trough is passing through the middle of Madhya Pradesh. Due to this, there may be very heavy and heavy rains in some parts of the state for the next 4 to 5 days.

On Sunday, light rain continued in Bhopal, Khajuraho of Chhatarpur district, Umaria, Malajkhand of Balaghat district, Betul, Dhar, Guna, Pachmarhi, Ratlam and Ujjain. Rainfall was also witnessed in Sarangpur of Rajgarh district and Itarsi of Narmadapuram. According to the Meteorological Department, the monsoon trough line is passing through North India. The low pressure area is also active. Depression near Odisha is active in the west-north Bay of Bengal. It will become stronger in the next 24 to 48 hours.

After a week, a period of heavy rain started in Shajapur city today. It has been raining intermittently since Monday morning, sometimes drizzling and sometimes heavy. Heavy rain started here at 11 am with thunder and lightning.

Till now an average of 36.4 inches of rain has occurred in the state. This is 98% of the season. The normal rainfall figure in MP is 37.3 inches, that is, now less than 1 inch of water is needed to complete the quota.

Till now, 28 districts including Bhopal, Gwalior have received more than normal rainfall i.e. from 96% to 169%. Among these, Sheopur has received the highest rainfall of 169%. However, Indore, Ujjain and Rewa divisions are lagging behind. Rewa has received the least rainfall of 60% i.e. 23.3 inches.

The highest rainfall in the state has been recorded in Mandla district i.e. 48.18 inches. Seoni district is in second place. So far 47.87 inches of rain has been recorded, 45.89 inches of rain has  has been recorded  in Sheopur and 44 inches of rain  has been recorded   in Dindori. Bhopal is at fifth place among the top 10 districts. More than 43 inches of rain has been recorded here. More than 40 inches of rain has been recorded in Sidhi, Chhindwara, Raisen, Sagar and Rajgarh.

After July and August, the big dams of the state have overflowed in September as well. The gates of 4 dams of Bhopal - Kolar, Kaliyasot, Kerwa and Bhadbhada have been opened. Water has increased in Bansagar, Kundalia, Bargi, Indira Sagar, Omkareshwar, Johila, Parasdoh, Chandaura, Kundalia along with Tawa Dam of Narmadapuram. Due to heavy rains for the next 4 days, the gates of many dams will open again.

Bhopal has received 17% more rain than normal, i.e., 43.9 inches. There was drizzle this morning. After this, the weather was sunny and shady, but the period of rain started at 7 pm. The Meteorological Department has issued a rain alert in Bhopal for the next 4 days. There is also an orange alert for heavy rain on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Due to rain, the gates of all the dams of Bhopal can open again. The water in Kolar Dam, Kerwa, Bhadbhada and Kaliyasot Dam near Bhopal is close to the prescribed level.
