Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Thursday said that only healthy children can contribute to nation building.
He said this at a function at the JR Dani Girls School in Raipur where he launched the administration of deworming pills on the National Deworming Day.
Officials from the Health Department and other departments were urged to attain 100 percent target in the initiative.
On August 29, as part of National Deworming Day, children and teenagers aged one to 19 years in the state were administered the deworming medication.
Those who missed the medication on August 29 will have another opportunity on September 4.
Deworming medicine was administered at various locations including Anganwadis, government schools, healthcare centres, aided private schools, and technical education institutions.
Children aged one to two years will be given half a tablet of Albendazole, while those above two years should receive a combination of D.E.C. and Albendazole.
The initiative aims to combat a variety of parasitic worm infections among the young population.
