A woman killed her 3-year-old son and 5-year-old daughter with a sharp edged weapon, police arrested her a short distance from the spot. The reason why the woman killed the children is not yet known.

The police are interrogating the woman. The incident took place at around 11.30 am on Thursday in Deori Ward No. 4, 140 km from the district headquarters.

ASP Kamlesh Kumar said, Radhika Adivasi cut the neck of her son and daughter with an axe at around 11.30 am in Deori police station area. The children include Naina (5) and Dev (3). The woman's husband works at a hotel, who was not at home at the time of the incident. When the husband reached home, he came to know about the incident. He informed the police. A burnt mattress was found near the girl's body.

The police arrested the woman and brought her to the police station. The reason for the murder is not yet known.

According to the information, the woman killed the children in the hut where she lives. She is changing her statement repeatedly during police interrogation.

First she said that she wanted to separate from her husband, so she killed the children. Then she said that she also wanted to die, but after killing the children, her mood changed and she did not commit suicide. The woman's husband said that his wife had a headache 2 months ago. She was undergoing treatment.

Neighbors said that the children were seen with their grandfather in the morning. He had given chocolates to both the children. The child's father and grandfather both work at a dhaba about half a kilometer away from the house. They had gone to work. At around 12 noon, the woman was seen going towards the main road with a bag. When we went towards her hut, we saw smoke rising. We immediately called her grandfather and called him home.

When the neighbours reached the hut, both the children were lying inside covered in blood. Clothes and belongings were burning nearby. The fire was immediately extinguished by pouring water. The clothes were burnt, but a photo of the children was found half burnt. After this, the grandfather arrived and called his son and the police.

On the other hand, the neighbours say that the woman was friends with a young man. He had come home to meet her. The children were also at home then. The children must have seen him at home. The woman must have killed the children to hide this from her husband.
