The UP police observed Police Week at the auditorium of Radio headquarters in Mahanagar on Friday. On the first day of the police week, the IPS officers discussed to improve further the law and order state in UP and advocated on the need of effective control while use of modern gadgets to connect themselves with the public remained other hot topic of discussion. 

Addressing the gathering, DGP UP AK Jain lauded the young officers for taking up cases with sincerity. He said the government had laid stress on modernisation of the police which was the need of the hour. He exhorted the police officers to take every measure to control crime and warned at the same that any laxity in this will not be tolerated. “We have to show good performance and also have to improve out image in public’s eye,’ the DGP said.

Earlier, ADG technical Services, RK Vishwakarma gave detailed information about CCTNS scheme and the progress that the police achieved so far with this scheme. He acquainted the participants with a scheme ‘Tatpar’ saying the registered institutes can get help from police just pressing a button. The ADG said several schemes were being run and they will show their good results in the time to come.   IG STF Sujit Pandey presented comprehensive details about the measures which were taken to handle with the organised crime.

“The district police should work in sync with the STF to crack heinous crime and daring crime incidents. The district police chiefs should basic data of crime and criminals,” the IG advised the participants.  IG Kanpur Zone, Ashutosh Pandey presented his project Crime Mapping in Uttar Pradesh and got applaud from the audience. He said the police control the crime by studying kinds of crimes, places, tendency and doing policing in an effective way. He called upon the participants to earmark the crime prone zones and take preventive measures to check crime. 

SSP Gaziabad, Dharmendra Singh described the Operation Smile operation through which 552 lost children/ persons had been detected so far and still the success was pouring in. The scheme had got a lot of praise from different quarters and later was adopted at all India level in the country. The SSP informed that the scheme had been adopted by the state police in Chattisgarh, Goa, Chandigarh and Jharkhand. 

SSP lucknow, Yashsvi Yadav also addressed in the police week. He gave elaborate information about the lucknow police scheme Drishti. He said CCTV cameras had hit success and the police were cracking the crime cases very quickly.
