State govt brace up security following Indian Army's surgical Strike

In wake of Indian Army’s surgical strike on terror outfits across line of Control (loC), the state government has alerted security forces to check any retaliatory action by subversive forces. 

Jawans of Shashastra Seema Bal (SSB) have also been put on high alert along the porous Indo-Nepal border to check any infiltration to create unrest in the country. 

Only on Wednesday, the state forces went on high alert after an advisory of Intelligence Bureau hinted at possible terror strikes particularly inside courts. Subsequently, massivesearch operations were carried out across UP.

Additional DG (law and order) Daljeet Choudhary issued directions on Thursday morning to all zonal IGs, range DIGs, SSP/ SPs and in-charge of other security outfits including the State Intelligence wing to be on high alert as anti-national activities could be carrie dout to create unrest. 

Chaudhary specially instructed the Intelligence Wing to closely monitor `social media’ so that no anti-national activities was operated over it. Officers were asked to take stern action if any objectionable remark was seen on social media. 

Besides, the ADG directed the further beefing up of security in areas with mixed population, ensure frisking and checking in crowded places like bus, railway stations, malls, theatres, markets, hotel, religious and other tourist destinations etc. 

The senior cop appealed to the public to immediately inform the police control room if they find any unclaimed object or suspect. 

Meanwhile, the SSB carried out massive checking operations along 551 kilometers of teh Indo-Nepal border covering Maharajganj, Bahraich, Balrampur, Shravasti, lakhimpur Kheri, Pilibhit etc. The SSB also carried out search operations on the internation border in Uttrakhand, Bihar, West Bengal, and Sikkim.
