Robotic Labs in Every Govt School in Sunam now

Saturday, 10 August 2024 | PNS | Chandigarh/Sunam

All Government High and Senior Secondary Schools in the Sunam constituency have been equipped with cutting-edge Robotic Laboratories. The initiative was unveiled on Friday by local MLA and Punjab’s Employment Generation, Skill Development, and Training Minister Aman Arora during the inauguration of an advanced robotic lab at Government High School, Kheri.

Arora hailed the project as a major advancement in scientific education, underscoring its role in preparing students for a rapidly evolving technological world. “This initiative is a testament to our commitment to providing top-notch, science-oriented education and equipping students with the skills necessary to excel in today's tech-driven era,” said Arora.

The new robotic labs, part of a two-phase rollout, will benefit a total of 29 schools. Today’s addition includes 11 schools joining the 18 already equipped under the first phase.

The labs are outfitted with an array of sensors and components, such as Ultrasonic, IR, Touch, Sound, Air Quality, Light, Temperature, Soil, PIR Motion, Alcohol, Metal Touch, Carbon Monoxide, Relay, Flame, Colour Sorting, and Rain Drop Sensors. Government Schools’ students will benefit from these enhanced lab facilities and resources including kit and components for increased focus in emerging technologies of AI and Internet of Things (IoT).

Regular training will be provided by specialists from Kurious Labs, Gurgaon, ensuring that students gain hands-on experience with these advanced technologies. This initiative, funded by ICICI Bank and executed in partnership with Kurious Learning Labs, aims to enhance student engagement with emerging technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT).

Sarang Gangan, Founder and CEO of Kurious Learning Labs, praised the project, stating, “We are proud to be part of this innovative effort that equips students with the skills and mindset needed to navigate a rapidly changing technological landscape.”
