Recovery rate up, CM bats  for proper medical care

With recovery rate in Uttar Pradesh breaching the 85 per cent-mark, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that his government was committed to providing better medical care to the people and would ensure that the patients did not face any problem. 

Yogi directed that all Covid hospitals be equipped well with adequate availability of medicines and medical oxygen.

Chairing an Unlock review meeting at Lok Bhawan here on Tuesday, the chief minister said that Covid testing should be aggressive and more high-risk groups should be scanned. 

He asked the officials to give emphasise on strong surveillance mechanisms to control the spread of the novel coronavirus.

Yogi directed officials to link KGMU with hospitals of the Health department and SGPGI with medical institutes and medical colleges under Medical Education department through virtual ICU. 

“It will help serious patients in receiving better treatment through specialists,” he said.

The chief minister stressed that protection was the only remedy against COVID-19 till specific medicine or vaccine was developed. He said that mass awareness about precautions through various modes of communication should be continued.

Yogi said that eSanjeevani, the online OPD service, was quite useful and there was need to publicise it widely for benefiting a large section of populace. 

He also asked the officials that training modules of doctors and paramedics be continued and asked them to pay extra attention on Lucknow and Kanpur Nagar for ensuring better recovery.

Meanwhile, Additional Chief Secretary (Health) Amit Mohan Prasad said that the number of recovered patients was more than the fresh cases. He said that recovery percentage in the state had gone up to 85.34 per cent .

Prasad said that there were 52,160 active cases in UP while the number of recovered patients stood at 3.36 lakh.

The additional chief secretary said 1.60 lakh sample were tested and there were 25,399 asymptomatic patients in home isolation. He said as many as 3,647 patients were admitted in private hospitals, 108 were in semi-paid hotels while the rest were in government-run Covid hospitals.

He said over 3.90 lakh surveillance teams had visited 1,25,065 areas of the state and 2.54 crore houses to check the health of over 12.64 crore people.

On Wednesday, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will inaugurate seven Level -2 Covid hospitals across the state and with this, all the 75 districts of the state would have Level-1 and Level-2, Covid hospitals.

On the occasion the chief minister would also launch a month-long drive wherein Health teams would visit homes to prevent vector-borne diseases like AES ,JE ,malaria, dengue, swine flu, kala azar, and chikungunya. 

From October 1 to 15, ASHA Bahus would also enrol children and pregnant women who missed vaccines during the lockdown.
