Under the Reading Campaign being conducted from August 27 to September 9, a Read- a- thon with the theme ‘Drop Everything and Read’ was organised in all the schools across the State on Tuesday.
During this, school children read for at least 30 minutes in different schools. Along with the children, teachers and community members also participated in it. The Read- a- thon is a major part of the reading campaign organized by Jharkhand Education Project Council in collaboration with IPEL, UNICEF and Room to Read India.
During Read a Thon, thousands of school children of the State studied simultaneously at different places at the same time. This campaign was organised from 11:00 am to 11:30 am during which children read their favorite books. The objective of this campaign is to encourage the habit of reading among school children and the community and motivate them to read regularly.
The Reading Campaign organised by Jharkhand Education Project Council will be conducted from August 27 to September 9. As a part of this, school children will participate in various interesting and motivational activities related to reading. Apart from school children, teachers, parents and school management committee as well as people of the community will also participate in this campaign.
Under this campaign, on September 4, children will read with their family members and parents will read children's literature, poems, stories, posters, and reading cards with children in school. This will enrich the culture of reading at home as well.
