In Banda, a five-year-old girl was raped by a teenaged neighbour at a village in Baberu area on Wednesday afternoon. The girl was playing outside her house when the 15-year-old predator took her to a secluded place and raped her. Later, the girl narrated her ordeal to her mother after which a case was registered. The offender was detained and the girl was sent for medical examination.

Elsewhere in Barabanki, a 15-year-old girl was raped by a man in a village when she went out for some work on Tuesday. Upon hearing the victim’s screams, locals rushed to the spot and caught the accused, identified as Punna alias Rakesh (38) and handed him over to the police. A case was registered and the accused was sent to jail.

Meanwhile in Gorakhpur, a minor girl was killed by her father in the name of saving family honour.

As per reports, Ramgovind of Parmeshwarpur hamlet in Chiluwatal area hacked his 16-year-old minor sister Anjali with a spade on Thursday late night.
