PVT Labs, Hospitals asked to inform immediately to civil surgeons about cases

To strengthen the containment measures amidst rising Covid-19 cases and related deaths in Punjab, all the private laboratories and hospitals have been directed to immediately inform the respective Civil Surgeon offices for notifying the affected persons.

The state Health and Family Welfare Minister Balbir Singh Sidhu made it clear that it was “compulsory” for all labs and hospitals to immediately inform respective Civil Surgeons of the districts “without any delay”.

“It is mandatory for all hospitals — Government and private, Medical officers in Government health institutions and registered Private Medical Practitioners, including AYUSH Practitioners, to also notify such people to concern district surveillance units,” he said.

 

40 WOMEN PRISONERS AT NABHA JAIL TEST POSITIVE

Forty women lodged in Patiala’s New Nabha Open Jail, on Tuesday tested positive for the novel coronavirus. With this, the jail’s tally has gone up to 47.  The Health Department said that random samples were collected from the female ward.

The inmates who tested positive would be shifted to a dedicated jail for those who are COVID-positive in the State. The Health Department said that they would start vaccination of inmates who have tested negative for the virus while positive inmates would be shifted out.
