Punjab Police, IAS Study Group Launch Discounted Coaching for Personnel's Children

Thursday, 22 August 2024 | PNS | Chandigarh

To support the educational aspirations of Punjab Police personnel’s children, the Punjab Police have joined forces with the IAS Study Group, Chandigarh, to provide discounted coaching services. The agreement was formalized by Punjab Armed Police (PAP) ADGP MF Farooqui and IAS Study Group director Raj Malhotra during a signing ceremony held at the PAP campus in Jalandhar.

Under this initiative, children of police personnel will benefit from premium coaching for IAS, PCS, and related services at substantially reduced rates. The standard fee for the course is Rs 1.40 lakh, but police families will enjoy significant discounts — a 50 percent reduction for those up to the rank of Inspector, lowering the fee to Rs 70,000, and a 40 percent discount for families of DSPs and higher-ranking officers.

Families of police martyrs will receive a full fee waiver, allowing their children to access the coaching free of charge, recognizing and honouring their sacrifices. This initiative also includes a flexible payment plan, where fees can be paid in three installments over six months. Additionally, if a candidate does not achieve selection, no further payment will be required.

The MoU also outlines provisions for a 50 percent scholarship for deserving candidates facing financial difficulties, supported by the NGO ‘Joy of Guidance,’ ensuring that talented students from economically challenged backgrounds can benefit from this opportunity. Those outside the police force can avail themselves of the coaching services at a 10 percent discount. Classes will be held six days a week from 3 pm to 5 pm at the PAP campus.
