Taking serious cognizance of high-handedness of the SDM and Tehsildar of Dera Baba Nanak Sub-Division for allegedly stealing power for their offices, Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal on Saturday directed the Deputy Commissioner, Gurdaspur, to hold an enquiry to look into all aspects to get to the bottom of the case.
A spokesperson of the CMO said that rules & regulations were same for every citizen of the State be it a common man or an officer.
The CMO has asked the Deputy Commissioner to submit an enquiry report at the earliest so that stern action could be taken against these officers allegedly involved in this offence.
The Chief Minister said such act of violation or negligence on the part of any public servant while discharging their official duties would not be tolerated and rather such delinquent officers deserved severe punishment as deterrent for other such erring two officials in future.
