Tension prevailed at the Pandit Raghunath Murmu (PRM) Medical College Hospital here after a patient died allegedly due to doctors’ negligence on Saturday.
One Jhunu Das, a resident of Ekatali village in Saraskana of Mayurbhanj district, had been admitted to the hospital following her chest pain. But she died on Saturday morning.
Her relatives allegedly misbehaved with and also assaulted a doctor and a nurse holding them responsible for her death.
However, in protest against this, the doctors and nurses staged a dharna in front of the police outpost in the hospital premises. The services at the hospital came to a halt for around three hours due to the protest.
The doctors resumed their duties after police pacified them. Besides, the police detained two persons in connection with the incident.
