In a major initiative, leading Islamic scholars, clerics and law-makers will come together under one umbrella in Mumbai on August 10 to press for the reservation of Muslims in education and jobs and to pitch for political reservation for the minority community.
Being hosted by Muslim Welfare Association, the Muslim Leadership Summit 2024 is being attended by 30 to 40 MPs and MLAs belonging to different political parties.
The day-long event that will take place on Saturday is of political significance, considering that it is being ahead of the Assembly polls in several of the states, including Maharashtra.
“This significant event will serve as a platform for comprehensive discussions on critical issues affecting the Muslim community, including welfare, reservation, safety, and security,” said Saleem Sarang, the founder of Muslim Welfare Association, said.
Renowned Islamic scholar Khalil-ur-Rahman Sajjad Nomani Sahab - who is a pillar of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board and Janab Tauqeer Raza Khan Sahab will be among those who will be speaking at the Summit.
