Agriculture Minister Pradeep Maharathi reviewed the agriculture situation in Balangir district in a meeting here. It was attended by MSME Minister Jogendra Behera, district Collector M Muthukumar and district level agriculture and horticulture officials.
later speaking to mediapersons, Maharthi said that the transplanting work of paddy crop has been affected due to shortage of water. However, the rains of last two days have improved the situation slightly.
However, he admitted that the planting of old paddy seedling would affect paddy productions in the district. He directed the lift Irrigation officials to repair the defunct lI points within 15 days.
