Commuters can avail metro rides earlier on Sundays as Delhi Metro will operate early on the day, starting August 25, in order to help students to reach their exam destinations on time without any hassle.
A statement by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation said, “The regular Metro services on Sundays which used to commence from 8:00 AM onwards on the Phase-III corridors now stand revised with effect from this Sunday.”
Starting this Sunday, services will commence from 6 am, rather than the usual 8 am timing, from corridors including Dilshad Garden to Shaheed Sthal (New Bus corridor), Noida City Centre to Noida Electronic City, Mundka to Brig. Hoshiar Singh and Badarpur Border to Raja Nahar Singh (Ballabhgarh).
Additionally, metros will start an hour earlier than the usual time of 8 am from corridors including Majlis Park to Shiv Vihar, Botanical Garden to Janakpuri West and Dhansa Bus Stand to Dwarka at 7 am.
Anuj Dayal, Principal Executive Director of DMRC, said, “The revision of service commencement timings on these corridors on Sundays will benefit not only the commuters of these corridors but also the number of students and applicants appearing for various competitive exams which generally take place on Sundays.”
He added that the extended timings will facilitate them to reach their destination centres across Delhi and adjoining areas in a seamless and convenient manner. “Services on all other corridors of the Metro Network will continue to run as per regular commencement time of 06:00 AM onwards,” Dayal stated.
