A State-level seminar on the criminal nexus between chit fund companies, realtors and Ollywood artists and use of black money in the Odia film industry would be held at the lohia Academy on July 1.
The seminar being organised by the Civil Society Groups would be attended by people from different walks of life, said RTI activist Pradip Pradhan of the groups on Wednesday.
“Two prominent chit fund companies, Maa Tarini Estate Private ltd owned by arrested Niranjan Rana and Oscar Chit Fund Company led by arrested Prabhas Rout, have looted crores of rupees on the plea of providing plots/houses and used this money in the Ollywood industry. Many actors-cum-BJD MPs and MlAs have promoted these companies in different forums. Hence, there is need of deliberation on the issue to check the evil practice,” said Pradhan.
