JCB scooping out piles of currency notes swallowed by the corrupt: CM

Friday, 31 December 2021 | PNS | Lucknow

Coming down heavily on the previous government over seizure of unaccounted cash, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, on Thursday, said, “Today, JCB is scooping out piles of currency notes that were swallowed by the corrupt for their own benefits.”

After laying the foundation stones and inaugurating 70 projects worth Rs 380 crore, including a government medical college, in Pilibhit, Yogi said, “ Pehle janata ka paisa satta ke jeb mein jaata tha, aaj wahi janata ka paisa JCB se khod kar nikala jaa raha hai’(Earlier the money for public welfare used to go into the pockets of those in power, today the same public money is being dug out by JCB.)"

Listing the infrastructure growth witnessed by the state during his regime, the chief minister said that the government worked to improve infrastructure like building airports, roads, medical colleges, expressways among others. “Today we are working to build houses, toilets, giving free vaccines, free rations for the poor. The country needs a government that is dedicated to saving its honour and glory, a government that respects the faith. The governments of Samajwadi Party, Bahujan Samaj Party and Congress always failed to do so,” he said.

Yogi further said, “The double engine government is providing ration to the poor twice a month. Earlier governments could have done this kind of work, but the money meant for the poor used to go into the pockets of the ruling party leaders.”

Speaking on development works done in Pilibhit, Yogi said, “Farmers in Pilibhit are scripting a new story with their efforts. Five years ago, anarchy, hooliganism, exploitation, and disorder prevailed in UP. The state was going through an identity crisis. The farmers were forced to commit suicide, the safety of the daughters was in danger and before any festival, there were riots. After our government was formed, the first task that we undertook was to waive farmers’ loans worth Rs 36,000 crore. Now festivals are being celebrated peacefully. During the pandemic, free vaccine, free treatment and free ration was given.”

The chief minister said, “Work is underway to restore the Pilibhit flute (‘baansuri’) which was played by Lord Krishna. Lord Krishna recognised your ‘murli’ 5,000 years ago, but the previous governments had forgotten it. Today, we have associated this industry with ODOP which will carry forwards the tradition. Industries have been established here so that the youth do not have to migrate to cities for employment. Many schemes are being run for the uplift of women. The Central and state governments are providing many facilities to the farmers to take them forward.”

In a stern warning to the mafia, irrespective of their caste, community or religion, the chief minister said they should be ready for the bulldozer if they tried to occupy anything illegally.
