Wednesday, 30 September 2015 | PNS | Lucknow

Directing officials to complete the on-going IT projects in time Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav said that IT City will not only give impetus to Information Technology based industry but also open door for employment in the state.

“The IT city in lucknow would become the land mark of the state. This industry will change the face of UP as people from other states will also come to UP for job,” Yadav said while reviewing the progress made in the IT city here on Tuesday.

He said that the ongoing development projects should be completed at the earliest so that their benefits go to the people. It is of paramount importance that the IT City project should start, at all costs, by October 2016,” Chief Minister said.

“In the present scenario IT would play a major role in the development of the state because people would get a numerous facilities sitting in their homes,” he said adding that IT City being established in the state capital would play a major role in economic development of the state in the future. “Not only will it enhance the availability of IT trained people but open new job opportunities. Therefore, it is important that these projects should finish in time and the Samajwadi Party can go to people in next elections with feather in its cap,” Yadav said. During the meeting Chief Minister informed officials that a formal understanding was arrived with the Union Commerce Ministry’s BOA meeting on August 27 to accord a ‘Special Economic Zone’ status to the IT City. He said that the Axis Bank, on September 14 last, has also approved the necessary amendments in the existing ‘letter of aggregate credit facilities’ for Rs. 468 crore for the project.

The Chief Minister was apprised of various bottlenecks in the project after which CM ordered regular monitoring of the project. “Regular monitoring will help in completing the project in fixed timeline,” he said. He also pointed out that the Samajwadi government was working for speedy and comprehensive development so that UP could be made a front-ranking state in the country. “To achieve this target timely completion of infrastructure projects is necessary,” he said.
