In a tragic turn of events, a 25-year-old man, Hussain, allegedly committed suicide after killing his teenage wife, Dilkash, in a suspected case of infidelity at their home in Millatnagar, located under the Kapali thana outpost in Seraikela-Kharsawan district. The incident reportedly took place on Sunday night, with the bodies discovered on Monday morning.

The gruesome scene unfolded in Shaheen Colony, a densely populated area near Jamshedpur’s Mango thana. The body of 18-year-old Dilkash was found mutilated and lying in a pool of blood on the bed, while Hussain’s body was discovered hanging from the ceiling fan in the same room. This horrific event has led to a bitter dispute between members of both families since the discovery of the bodies.

Upon receiving the information, local police arrived at the scene and promptly removed the bodies for postmortem. A forensic team was also deployed to conduct a thorough investigation of the crime scene. According to Kapali thana officer-in-charge (OC) Sonu Kumar, Hussain, who worked as a motor mechanic, married Dilkash a year ago. However, their marriage quickly became troubled due to Hussain’s suspicions of his wife’s fidelity.

OC Sonu Kumar explained, "Barely a month into their marriage, Hussain began suspecting that Dilkash was involved in an extramarital affair, leading to frequent quarrels. As the disputes escalated, Dilkash moved back to her parents’ house. Hussain convinced her to return to their home just a week ago, but the arguments continued to intensify."

According to statements from both families, the couple’s argument on Sunday night was particularly severe. "It appears that during the altercation, Hussain murdered Dilkash with a chopper and subsequently took his own life by hanging," added the OC.

The bodies have been moved to the Seraikela Sadar Hospital mortuary for postmortem examination following the forensic investigation at the scene. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding this tragic incident to uncover more details and provide clarity to the grieving families.
