Hundreds of youths joined JMM today at the residence of Chief Minister Hemant Soren. Around 200 youths who arrived from Garhwa said that they are leaving ABVP and joining JMM.
The youth said that they are impressed by the work of the government and Minister Mithilesh Thakur. The process of people from other parties joining the front from Thakur's assembly constituency is continuing.
Meanwhile, Garhwa District Olympic Association honoured the Drinking Water and Sanitation Minister of the Jharkhand Government, Mithilesh Kumar Thakur on being made the Minister of tourism, art, culture, sports and youth affairs department. In the felicitation ceremony organized at Nilambar Pitambar Multipurpose Cultural Bhawan Town Hall, the officials of the association gave a grand welcome to the Minister and congratulated him. Along with this, the Minister was honored by garlanding him, giving bouquets, draping a shawl and tying a turban. The Minister was welcomed with tribal songs and dances.
On the occasion, Thakur said that ever since I became an MLA, I have done more than whatever could have been done for sports in Garhwa. “Today I have become the Sports Minister. I have an opportunity to do a lot in less time. With the support of all of you, I will keep developing the district and the state. I will definitely consider the demands of all the sports associations,” he added.
General Secretary of Garhwa District Olympic Association, Alok Mishra said that it is a matter of great pride for Garhwa district that Garhwa MLA and Jharkhand Government's Drinking Water and Sanitation Minister Mithilesh Kumar Thakur has been made the State Minister of Tourism, Art, Culture, Sports and Youth Affairs Department. Now there will be better development of sports and players in the entire state including Garhwa, he added.
