Heavy rains predicted in next 2 days in Madhya Pradesh

Heavy rainfall would be witnessed in the state for the next 2 days in the intense active systems,  heavy rainfall was witnessed in Narmadapuram, Dhar, Indore, Ratlam, Ujjain, Nowgong.

Two and a half inches of rainfall was recorded in Dhar in 9 hours. One sluice gate of Dholawad Dam in Ratlam and 10 sluice gates of Barkheda Dam in Dhar had to be opened.

The Meteorological Department said that from September 5, a low pressure area is becoming active in the Bay of Bengal. Its effect can be seen in the state in the next 2-3 days. This time September started with rain.

All the 10 sluice gates of Barkheda Dam in Kukshi of Dhar have been opened this morning, 6.5 inches of rain was recorded in Barkheda in 24 hours. The level of the dam has reached 262.40 meters. Due to the inflow of 3300 cubic meters per second, water is being released by opening all the gates of the dam.

Water is being released by opening all the 10 gates of Barkheda Dam of Dhar.

The total water level of Dholavad Dam of Ratlam is 395 meters. By 5 pm on Tuesday, it had become 394.90 meters. Due to rain in the catchment of the dam, water is continuously coming. From 6 pm onwards, 1200 cusecs of water is being released into the Jamun river by opening one gate of the dam. An alert has been issued in the low-lying areas.

Senior meteorologist told that at present, an intense low pressure area (depression) is active. The monsoon trough is passing through Raisen, Chhindwara of the state. The activity of the cyclonic circulation system remains. Due to this, there is heavy rain in the state. This system will remain active for the next 2 days. However, the system will move forward after Tuesday.

After July and August, the state's big dams have overflowed in September as well. The gates of Bhopal's 3 dams Kaliyasot, Kerwa and Bhadbhada have opened once again. Three gates of Narmadapuram's Tawa Dam have also been opened up to 4 feet.

Apart from these, on Monday, water inflow continued in other dams including Bansagar, Kundalia, Bargi, Indira Sagar, Omkareshwar, Johila, Parasdoh, Chandaura, Kundalia.
