Haryana BJP Election Committee starts brainstorming to prepare panel of winning contenders for Assembly seats

As the Haryana assembly elections are around the corner the State BJP Election Committee has started brainstorming to prepare a panel of winning contenders at the assembly constituency level.

The two-day brainstorming session of the state election committee of the BJP to shortlist candidates for the Assembly elections started on Thursday. The session will continue on Friday as well.

Meanwhile, Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar sounded confident about the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) forming the government in Haryana for the third consecutive time.

The former Haryana Chief Minister attended a party meeting here that was held to discuss the probable nominees for the upcoming October 1 election for 90 Assembly seats.

The two-day brainstorming session of the state election committee of the BJP to shortlist candidates for the Assembly elections had commenced on August 22.

Speaking to the mediapersons after the meeting, the Union Minister said that around 25-30 candidates had shown interest in each seat.

He said that the names would be shortlisted soon and submitted to the party's parliamentary board for finalisation.

In the session detailed information about the status of seats was obtained from the officials of five districts, which include Gurugram, Faridabad, Palwal, Nuh and Rewari.

After getting information about the remaining districts on Friday, an attempt will be made to prepare a panel of three contenders each.

A senior party leader for Gurugram said that the candidates' winnability was the only factor that would be considered for the selection.

Meanwhile, an assessment exercise is being carried out to determine the political situation in all the districts of the state.

At the beginning of the meeting, all the members including state election in-charge and Union Human Resource Development Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, election co-in-charge and MP Biplab Deb, National Vice President Saudan Singh, state in-charge Dr Satish Poonia, co-in-charge Surendra Nagar, Union Minister Manohar Lal, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, State President Mohan Lal Baroli, National Secretary Omprakash Dhankhar, Election Management Committee Convenor Kuldeep Bishnoi and State Organization Minister Phanindranath Sharma discussed this.

During the session, party officials of Gurugram, Faridabad, Palwal, Nuh and Rewari districts were called separately, and the political scenario was discussed. Information about the problems of the area was also obtained from the officials. Along with this, there was also a discussion on solving them soon. It is being said that on Friday's session, an attempt will be made to prepare a panel of winning contenders. It is said that a large number of applications have come from all assemblies.
