A delegation of Gujarat Education Department is in Lucknow to study the Uttar Pradesh model of education.

The Yogi Adityanath government said in a statement that the states across India were taking note of the remarkable strides made in education in UP, with many sending delegations to study the success of UP’s education model, refined over the past seven years.

During the three-day visit, the six-member delegation explored schools, teacher training centres and Vidya Samiksha Kendra, examining teaching materials and learning apps. The members of the delegation praised the comprehensive approach of the Nipun Bharat Mission and expressed interest in adopting similar strategies in Gujarat. The delegation will conclude its visit on August 10 by visiting the Shri Ram temple in Ayodhya to seek blessings.

Led by ASPD, SSA, Gujarat, MM Patel, the delegation to Lucknow sought a comprehensive understanding of Uttar Pradesh’s progress with the Nipun Bharat Mission. They explored the advancements of the mission and the efforts made to deliver quality education.

On the first day, the delegation visited Primary School Ramchaura and Composite School Paharpur in Lucknow, where they met headmasters, teachers and mentors.

The delegation reviewed the Nipun Bharat Mission’s teaching materials and received detailed explanations of mentoring processes, reviews, monitoring and training. They also observed live classroom teaching and collaborative supervision demonstrations, satisfying their curiosity and providing valuable insights for future planning.

Technical experts from Uttar Pradesh’s Basic Education Department gave the delegation insights into various teaching apps used in the state, including Diksha, Nipun Lakshya and Quality App.

On the second day, the delegation engaged with teachers and trainers undergoing professional development in Sarojininagar block of Lucknow. They observed interactive teacher training sessions utilising handouts, videos and PowerPoint presentations and participated in a Shikshak Sankul meeting, highlighting effective peer learning practices.

The delegation also visited the Vidya Samiksha Kendra and learned how district-level data is analysed to provide comprehensive information. They concluded their visit with a meeting with the principal secretary, Basic Education, in which they shared their findings and received practical advice on implementation.

The Gujarat delegation praised the integrated approach of Uttar Pradesh’s Nipun Bharat Mission, particularly appreciating the TLM materials, including workbooks, textbooks and the Shikshak Sanrakshika. They commended the seamless integration of these resources.

The delegation was impressed by the detailed weekly and daily teaching plans provided in the Shikshak Sanrakshika, which simplifies the planning process for teachers. The delegation was also pleased to explore the nuances of collaborative supervision.

The delegation included ASPD Dr MM Patel, convener Anil Kumar Upadhyay, state resource person Sanjay Chaudhary, Dharmesh Ramanuj, Atul Panchal and Abhishek Singh Chauhan.
