BJP Ganjam district president Bibhuti Jena has said nearly eight lakh migrant workers from different work places of the country have actually returned to their native homes located in different parts of Ganjam district during Covid-19 pandemic, where as the figure of such total returnees to the district as furnished by Ganjam Collector showing only 2.50 lakh is not only far from truth but quite unfortunate and condemnable.
The Ganjam Collector instead of rehabilitating them and facilitating work to such migrant returnees for their livelihood is befooling the public by deliberately airing wrong information by suppressing truth only to appease the Government, Jena alleged.
At the time the migrant workers returned to their home district, the State Government had then assured them of their permanent rehabilitation and jobs but it did nothing for them during last 4 months, Jena alleged.
