Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) Bhagabati Guru of Jagannathprasad block in Ganjam district was caught by Vigilance officers on Saturday while she was demanding and accepting bribe of `28,000 from one Puja Rani Pradhan of Charikonia village in Ganjam district.
The CDPO had demanded the bribe from Pradhan for appointing the latter as an Anganwadi worker. The complainant alleged that she had applied for the post at the Charikonia Anganwadi Centre.
When she requested the accused for her appointment, the latter demanded a bribe of `30,000 and then reduced it to `28,000. later,
Pradhan reported the matter to the Vigilance, following which a trap was laid and Guru was caught red-handed.
