A workshop on making eco-friendly Ganesha was organized at Rabindranath Tagore University on Friday.
Bhopal's clay art expert Lakhan Prajapati gave training in the workshop. While the students of the university participated in this workshop, the teachers of the university also attended it. The students learned to make Lord Ganesha from clay and prepared the idol of Lord Ganesha in various forms.
Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Liberal Arts, Dr. Ruchi Mishra Tiwari said that the main purpose of conducting the workshop on making the idol is that we have to connect our religious sentiments with nature now. Because we all immerse these idols in rivers or ponds etc.
The idols that are currently used use chemical colors and plaster of Paris. Which dissolve after immersion in the river or pond and pollute the water.Department Head Dr. Harsha Sharma said that with the aim of protecting the environment from pollution and for the upcoming Ganesh festival, a workshop was organized to make clay Ganesha.
