ECI Chief is laughter channel character: Bhattacharya

Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), on Sunday, reacted to the change in the dates of assembly elections in Haryana. The party said that ECI Chief is character of laughtr channel.

Addressing a press meet JMM Spokesperson Supriyo Bhattacharya said that he had already suspected this. He said that Haryana BJP State president Mohanlal Badoli had also written a letter to the commission to change the date.

While the elections were to be held on October 1 in Haryana earlier, now the voting will be held on October 5. Election Commission announced that the counting of votes will be done on October 8.

On this, Bhattacharya targeted the commission and said that ECI Chief will give a level playing ground. He said that the dates of elections in Haryana were fixed at the behest of BJP, which now had to be changed.

The JMM Spokesperson said that the determination of the dates of elections in Haryana and then changing it raises questions on the impartiality and seriousness of the Election Commission. He said that the Election Commission works as per the dictation of BJP. He said that the same attitude of the commission is seen during all three elections be it Lok Sabha elections, Rajya Sabha elections or assembly elections. He said that the BJP election co-incharge of Jharkhand said that the code of conduct will be implemented after September.

Bhattacharya alleged that the BJP wants to influence and corrupt the elections with its wrong intentions. He said that this is a serious problem. “I was afraid that this would happen because the Election Commission has been exposed to every nook and corner. The Election Commissioner did not even visit this state before the Lok Sabha elections. Lok Sabha elections were conducted in four phases in extreme heat. After this, an apology was made. The ADR report is that there are more counted votes than poll votes. An inquiry was ordered. But silence was maintained on this as well,” he added.
