DU holds ‘Ramcharitmanas for Humanity’ conference

Minister of Culture and Tourism Gajendra Singh Shekhawat on Friday , highlighted how the Ramcharitmanas offers solutions to everyday challenges, emphasising that the life of Shri Ram serves as an ideal for humanity.

Making these assertions while addressing a one-day conference ‘Ramcharitmanas for Humanity’ organized by the Centre for Hindu Studies, University of Delhi, he discussed the different stages and phases of life as depicted in the Ramcharitmanas and its relevance in contemporary times.

Shekhawat also noted how the Ramcharitmanas has carried the roots and wisdom of Bharat to the world, stressing the

importance of applying its teachings in daily life ‘applied Ramcharitmanas’ and encouraging everyone to reflect on how to implement its principles.

The conference was organized with the aim of providing a platform for experts to engage in insightful discussions on various aspects of Ramcharitmanas .

Eminent scholars and experts in the field of Ramcharitmanas shared their perspectives on topics ranging from ‘Ram and Ramrajya,’ ‘social and cultural impact of Ramcharitmanas,’ and application of Ramcharitmanas in contemporary times.

Dr. Prerna Malhotra, Conference Convener and Joint Director of Hindu Studies explained that ‘dharma’ serves as the sustainer, embodying the principle of righteous actions.

Guest of Honour Santosh Taneja, founder , Samkalp and Advisor, Sanskriti Sangyan, elaborated on the concept of Ramrajya, emphasising the immense yet invisible powerof spirituality.
