Chief Secretary,Alok Ranjan claimed new infrastructure led tremendous achievement for state govt

Chief Secretary, Alok Ranjan claimed that state government had achieved tremendous success in attracting investment after new Infrastructure and Industrial Policy 2012. He claimed that just in the last two financial years, investment of over Rs 11874 has been made in the state while till September 2014, an investment of Rs 14602.85 crore has been made in the industrial sector.

 He said that the industrial policy had facilitated over 7,76,831 direct jobs besides creating 1,49,729 indirect jobs in the State.

Giving details of the success story of state industrial policy under the present Samajwadi Party government, Ranjan said that under the new policy, they divided industries under two categories -between Rs 200 crore to Rs 500 crore and secondly industries of over Rs 500 crore, and gave them various concessions and offers to attract maximum investment.

He said that as a result of transparency and large scale facilitation on industrial development, besides other industries many big business houses like Reliance, Birlas, Samsung, Shree Cement Group etc had entered into steel, cement, special papers, and boards, electronic components etc businesses. 

Ranjan further said that 20 investors had also offered 22 more industrial projects and memorandum of agreement has been reached with them.

The prominent investors included Reliance, ITC, Excel, Sonalika Tractors, Amity, Fortis, GAIl, GPl, Agro Duncan Goenaka, Shree Cements etc. He said that an Electronic Cite project of worth Rs 1500 crore is also underway by HCl group in lucknow. In Noida, land to establish IT-SEZ has been allotted to Infoysis. The group would invest over 2956 crore which included 1455 crore in Noida for the above project.

According to Ranjan, the other prominent projects of State government which are already underway, included Semi-Conductor Waiffer Fab, Dairy Projects, leather Industry, Trans-Ganga Project in Unnao (would link Kanpur-Unnao), Sangam City in Naini (Allahabad), Plastic City in Auraiya, Theme Park in Agra, Jagdishpur Paper Mill Project,  GAIl Project, lucknow Metro Rail Corporation, Noida Metro Rail Project, International Cricket Statdium at lucknow, Kushinagar International Airport, Maitri Project (to promote tourism in Kushninagar), Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor,   Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (Early Bird Project), Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor Project, Solar Energy Project, Agra-lucknow Expressway project, Tehri Hydro Development Corporation Project, National Automotive Testing and Infrastructure Project and projects of Indian Oil Corporation.
