Cabinet approves construction of SC/ST hostels in Ranchi

The Jharkhand Cabinet today gave its nod for construction of separate hostels for Scheduled Tribes (ST) and Scheduled Caste (SC) in the State Capital. A 520-bed hostel for scheduled tribes and 528-bed hostel for scheduled castes will be built in Ranchi. Partial amendment in the hostel nutrition scheme 2024, in which various agencies or companies including non-government institutions can also be included. In today’s cabinet meet nod to 63 agendas were approved.

The Jharkhand Cabinet also decided that now economically weaker girl students of private schools will also be included in the Savitribai Phule Kishori Scheme, the benefit of the scheme will be available only on reserved seats.

The Hemant Soren government in 2022 started the Savitribai Phule Kishori Yojana (named after Maharashtrian educationist and reformer Savitribai Phule) for the girl child. Through this scheme a girl child after attaining 18 years will get Rs 40,000 from the government . This is aimed at encouraging girl child education and curbing early marriages.

Girls up to 18 years of age will also be included in the Mukhyamantri Maiya Samman Yojana. This will benefit 8 lakh additional girls, currently 48 lakh women are getting its benefit. The Jharkhand Mukhyamantri Maiya Samman Yojana is a program that provides financial assistance to women in the state of Jharkhand. The program's goal is to improve the financial security and well-being of women across the state.

The State Government last month initiated an ambitious Jharkhand Mukhyamantri Maiya Samman Yojana (JMMSY), under which women in the age group of 21 to 50 years will be provided financial assistance of Rs 1,000 per month. The scheme will benefit 48 lakh women in the state.

The amount for free uniform for students of classes 9 to 12 of government schools has been increased from 600 to 1200. There will be two toilets and drinking water arrangements in government Anganwadi. A provision of 35400 for building toilets and 200741 for drinking water arrangement was made.

The salary of former Chief Minister and former Minister Assistants has been increased from Rs 43412 to Rs 44900. Accident life insurance will be provided to assistant police personnel. The honorarium of assistant police personnel has been increased from 10000 to 13000. R4000 rupees will be given annually as uniform allowance.

The incentive amount for milk given to the Milk Federation by the milk producers of the state has been increased from 3 to 5 rupees. The honorarium of Jal Sahyas has been increased from 1000 to 2000 rupees. The honorarium of Sahyas of the Health Department has now been increased from 1000 to 2000.

Retiring advocates will now be given pension amount of ₹14000 instead of 7000 on surrendering their license.

Celebration, excitement and enthusiasm were visible in the Jharkhand Ministry this evening. On one hand, hundreds of advocates were present to thank the Chief Minister for the historic decisions taken by the State Council of Ministers for the welfare of advocates, including increase in pension amount, health insurance benefits, providing assistance to the dependents of the advocate after his death and increase in the stipend amount of newly registered advocates, while on the other hand, the computer operators and project workers of JSLPS were congratulating Chief Minister Hemant Soren for the decision taken to make a respectable increase and adjustment in honorarium.

The Chief Minister accepted the greetings of all. He said that our government is dedicated to the people of the state. The honour and welfare of all and the protection of their interests is our commitment. Keeping this in mind, our government lays special emphasis on making such policies and decisions, so that every section and class of the society is benefited and no one is deprived of the schemes of the government. Our effort is to make Jharkhand a prosperous state with the participation of all.
