BMC removes encroachments at various places

Intensifying the drive against encroachment on public places and roads, the anti-encroachment squad of Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) took action in various parts of the city on Thursday.

The squad removed encroachments at New Market, lalghati, Gandhi Nagar, Karond square, Chhola Mandir road, Bhanpur, Ayodhya Bypass road, Indrapuri, Rachna Nagar and other localities in the city.

Two truck loads of goods including kiosks, tobacco parlours, counters, tables, benches, chairs, flower pots, hand carts and other such things were also confiscated by the squad.

It also removed nearly three dozen vehicles illegally parked in no-parking area at the New Market. The squad shifted the vehicles to the parking lot in the area.

In an action at the Ayodhya Bypass road, the anti-encroachment squad removed pots and benches illegally placed on the road. The pots and benches were also confiscated by it. At Indrapuri the squad removed construction materials including iron rods that were placed by the sellers on the roadside. It warned the sellers to stop encroaching on the road.

At Rachana Nagar, the squad removed fencings in front of the houses of the residents freeing the public land illegally occupied. The BMC also took action against hoardings and advertisement boards illegally placed at New Market, Roshanpura Square and Jahangirabad localities of the city. Nearly 10 such hoardings and advertisement boards were removed by the BMC including one from New Market, six from Roshanpura Square and three from Jahangirabad.

Notably, BMC officials were directed recently by Mayor Krishna Gaur and Commissioner Vishesh Gadhpale to take action against the hoardings and advertisement boards illegally erected in various parts of the city.
