Activists of the BJP Yuva Morcha on Saturday held a rally and burnt effigies of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and Skill Development and Technical Education Minister Sanjay Dasburma here in protest against the State Government’s move to appoint departmental Minister as a Pro-Chancellor in the Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT).
“The State Government is politicising the education system, which is weakening now. It is trying to pass a Bill, which was disapproved by Governor. We condemn the move,” said the agitating activists.
They said the BJYM would intensify its stir from booth to district level if the Bill is passed again in the State Assembly.
Among others, BJYM technical cell coordinator Bishwajit Sarangi, Morcha secretary Om Prakash Mishra and Dipak Gochhayat, secretary Arpita Aparajita Badajena, Morcha president Debashis Nayak, Sujit Kumar Sahoo, Bibhuti Bhushan Prusty, Rajendra Nayak, Jasmin Parida and Dhabaleswar Murti attended.
