BJP questions law and order in UP

Saturday, 28 February 2015 | PNS | Lucknow:

Hitting out at the state government over poor law and order situation the state unit of  Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) said that murder of three people during loot of ATM speaks volumes about crime situation of the state capital.

“Two criminals come on motorcycle open fire killing three persons and then melt into thin air. The police remain clueless. If this is the situation of the state capital what is happening in Bundelkhand, Gorakhpur and western UP is any body’s guess,” BJP state president Dr lakshmi Kant Bajpai said in a statement issued here on Friday.

He said be it busy crossing in lucknow or jail in Mathura or court room in Moradabad or court premises of Muzaffarnagar criminals activities are taking place with impunity. The common man on the street no longer feels safe. There is lurking fear that they can be killed anytime and anywhere, he said.

Three persons were killed when two motorcycle borne criminals opened fire in Hasanganj area of the city and decamped with Rs 55 lakh.“This incident is a stinging slap on the face of the Government because the city where CM lives and DGP has his office three innocent lives were lost. The criminals have the audacity to carry out their operation because they knew police does not have the might to arrest them,” he said.

Bajpai said the most shameful act is of the SSP luckinow who told reporters that police cannot control such incidents. “This shows the police does not have the courage to check such crime,” he said. “CM has given 15 days to police to solve this case which is ridiculous. This shows Government is trying to protect the SSP, lucknow,” he said and demanded immediate arrest of criminals.
