BJP candidate from North West Delhi Yogender Chandoliya held a grand roadshow on Monday before filing his nomination for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections on May 25. As many as 15 candidates have filed their nominations on Monday. While the highest number of nominations filing happened from the candidates of Chandni Chowk, no candidate from New Delhi and South Delhi filed theirs. Five candidates from Chandni Chowk filed their nomination before the Election Commision, four from North west Delhi, two each from North east Delhi, East Delhi and West Delhi while no candidates from New Delhi and South Delhi came to file their nomination on Monday.
Chandoliya, in his affidavit, declared that his immovable assets which included his residential building is worth Rs 2,15,00,000 while his movable assets, which includes cash in hand, deposits in bank, investments, motor vehicles, and jewellery, amount to Rs 29,31,137.92. Additionally, his spouse Meena Chandolia has Rs 31,92,346.63 worth of immovable assets.
The former Mayor of New Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC) has declared that he has two criminal cases registered against him including one that involves the protest before the Delhi Jal Board for water problem faced by Delhiites in 2022 under section 188, 269, 147, 148, 149, 427 of the IPC and Section 3 of PDPP Act 1984.
Further, he has announced that he has about 10 Lakhs worth of liabilities. The former General Secretary of BJP’s Delhi unit has more than 1 Lakh worth of shares, as declared by him in the affidavit. He also has one life insurance while his wife has three. Chandoliya also has a car worth more than Rs 13 Lakhs while more than 10 Lakhs worth of jewellery with him. His wife Meena has a car worth Rs 5 Lakhs and jewellery worth Rs 18 Lakhs.
