All India Sports competition of ERMS to begin from Dec 9

All India Sports Competition of Eklavya Residential Model Schools (ERMS) is being organized in Bhopal from December 9 to 13. The preparations are being made by the Tribal Welfare Department for the event.

The competition will be inaugurated at TT Nagar Stadium on December 9. After the inauguration, the competitions of various sports will take place at different stadiums of Bhopal. The competitions will be held at TT Nagar Stadium, Sports Authority of India (SAI), Motilal Nehru Stadium, MVM College Ground, Model School Ground, Naveen Kanya Vidyalaya-Tulsinagar and Prakash Tarun Pushkar.

About 5 thousand players, coaches and office bearers of 23 states are taking part in the Eklavya Residential Model Schools All India Sports Competition. The competition will be held in 16 sports disciplines Hockey, Wrestling, Football, Archery, Volley Ball, Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Hand-Ball, Swimming, Boxing, Basketball, Badminton, Taekwondo, Table Tennis and Athletics.

As many as 555 players of 26 Eklavya Residential Model Schools of Madhya Pradesh have been selected for the competition. For the successful completion of the event, about 20 committees have been constituted by the Tribal Welfare Department for accommodation, transport, meals, games registration, observation, medical and health, security and sanitation. These committees in coordination are making arrangements for the event.

The Symbol and Mascot of the All India Sports Competition of Adarsh Residential Model Schools were unveiled by the Chief Minister Kamal Nath recently. The symbol issued for the competition is based on the picture of Eklavya, a character of Mahabharata.  The picture depicts power, dedication, integrity and courage of Eklavya. The green round covering around it indicates nature and earth. It also inspires to preserve the nature. The yellow color shown in the symbol symbolises happiness, positivity and energy. Mascot for the Eklavya National Sports Competition is 'Bagh Munna”. The tiger is also our national animal.

TheAdditional Commissioner Tribal Welfare Rishi Garg along with the representatives of transport committee as well as event management and Manoj Sharma of Traffic Police inspected the parking sites for the competitions.

 A special training arrangement has been made for the 555 students of MP selected for the competition. The nutritious food is also being made available regularly for the selected players.
