All houses in hotspots to be sanitised

In a bid to control further spread of coronavirus across the state, the Uttar Pradesh government has ordered that all houses located in the hotspots be sanitised.
There are around 381 hotspots in 15 districts of the state and all houses in these areas will be sanitised on a war footing.
“These hotspots have over six lakh houses that are inhabited by around 36 lakh people. They are being provided with all essentials at their doorstep,” said a senior officer on Wednesday.
In addition, the government has also ordered pool testing after the state witnessed a sudden surge in coronavirus cases.
“Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath ordered strict enforcement of lockdown and maintaining of proper hygiene in the state. The government has decided to get every house sanitised in hotspot areas. Orders have also been issued for setting up quarantine centres with large capacities as a precautionary measure,” said Additional Chief Secretary Awanish Awasthi in Lucknow on Wednesday.
Principal Secretary (Health) Amit Mohan Prasad said that 11,487 people were put in quarantine and 1,769 in isolation.
On Tuesday, 75 additional isolation beds were added to Level-1 hospital and with this, the number of isolation beds increased to 17,194 and of quarantine beds to 21,569. Besides, the number of Level-1 hospitals in the state reached 155, Level-2 hospitals to 78 while the number of Level-3 hospitals increased to six. On Tuesday, 3,799 samples were sent for testing.
