In an order which could send warning signals among the employees of lucknow Development Authority (lDA) Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has asked officials to first demolish unauthorized construction of houses of lDA employees before targeting others. In a written statement issued here on Friday government spokesman said that Chief Minister wants that first lDA should demolish unauthorized construction carried out by its own employees than point finger at others.

“It is strict guideline. CM wants the work to be done in a specified time frame. The CM has clarified that he would monitor it after a fortnight,” he said. He said that Chief Minister wants unauthorized constructions should end but the process should start from those people who are supposed to ensure no unauthorized construction is carried out anywhere in the city.

There were reports that many engineers, junior engineers and other lDA employees have carried out unauthorized constructions in the heart of city. They have encroached lands and in some cases constructed muti-story buildings where only single storey construction is allowed. CM was also informed about illegal construction of shopping complex in those areas which does not have authorized parking.

“If the axe should fall, it should fell on these people who by cocking a snook at the government order built their houses. In majority of the cases the map of the houses of these lDA employees are not even passed by the authorities,” the spokesman said.
