The fourth proposed bridge on river Subarnarekha has received administrative and technical approvals. The bridge would facilitate easy connection between Baleswar and Mayurbhanj districts besides connection to West Bengal.
The bridge on the road of Jaleswar-Raibania, Shantipur near Rajpur-Sikharpur has been a longstanding demand of the area. local MlA Aswini Patra and Baleswar MP RK Jena have been trying for construction of the bridge and pressurising the Government for this. After its approval the budget estimation, map drawing and soil testing have already been done.
The information was recently given in the State Assembly by Minister of Rural Development Badrinaryan Patra in reply to a question of Aswini Patra. While the budget estimation was made in the fiscal year 2013-14, tender would be invited after a fresh revised estimation, said sources.
