A 10-year-old minor girl of Biramitrapur of Sundargarh district was allegedly gangraped on Monday night. Police rescued the girl an open field in wee hours on Tuesday and arrested two youths allegedly for the rape.
According to reports, a record dance programme was being held on Monday evening, for which hundreds of locals had gathered. The victim girl along with her parents and other members of the family had come to witness the programme. The two miscreants initiated talks with her and lured her with chocolate. They took the girl to a secluded open field near the village crematorium and raped her one after another.
When the family members saw the girl missing, they informed the local police. The girl was finally located along with the two youths in the open field. locals assaulted the youths. Police then arrested the youths, identified as Chotu Binjia (25) and Jetu Pradhan (24), both local residents.
“We conducted medical examination of the accused and also the girl on Tuesday,” said Biramitrapur police station IIC Debi Prasad Das.
