The program Divya Kala Shakti organized by the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan) under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment was attended by Minister of State for Defence, Sanjay Seth on Saturday. On this occasion, Hatia MLA Naveen Jaiswal, CMD, NDFDC, Naveen Shah, Shashi Prakash Jha, Director, Women and Child Welfare Department, Jharkhand, CEO, Jharkhand State Cooperative Bank Brijeshwar Nath, Director, CRC and officials of NDFDC, New Delhi were present.
A cultural program called "Divya Kala Shakti" was organized on the tenth day of the eleven-day Divya Kala Mela going on in the capital Ranchi. In this program, about 60 artists from six states like West Bengal, Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand performed. A unique combination of folk and regional dance forms of all the above regions was reflected in today's program.
About 1,000 people from various sections including public representatives, State administration, various NGOs, primary and secondary teachers, students of universities, representatives of musical gharanas, rehabilitation professionals and stakeholders of the Department witnessed the exceptional performance of Divyang children and youth in the cultural event ‘Divya Kala Shakti – Disability Mein Yogyaav Ke Darshan’. It was organized through NDFDC, New Delhi, CRC-Ranchi and SVNIRTAR, Cuttack, a corporation functioning under the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.
The Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan) arranged for their rehearsal and practice sessions with choreographers. The discipline and accuracy of timing and performance among such children is the greatest example of their intellectual, creative and latent abilities which need to be harnessed for their optimum self-realization. The event was witnessed by various dignitaries representing senior Government officials, creative people, teachers, principals, and various disability advocacy groups among others.
Children and youth with multiple disabilities ranging from physical, visual, hearing, intellectual, autism showcased their art. They are capable of excelling in any field, be it art, culture, sports or anything. Children with disabilities and spectators will always remember the inspiring words of the Prime Minister, “Divyangjans are talented human beings, and we are working resolutely towards ensuring an inclusive, accessible and equitable future for our Divyang sisters and brothers. Their perseverance and achievements in various fields inspire all of us.”
MoS, Defence, Sanjay Seth appreciated the performance of all the artists and reiterated his commitment to Divyangjans and said that such events will continue to be held at regular intervals. He also appreciated the performance of all the groups.
CMD, NDFDC Naveen Shah welcomed all the dignitaries and participants. Shashi Prakash Jha, Director, Women and Child Welfare Department, Government of Jharkhand, motivated the Divyangjans and urged them to recognize their inner talent and actively participate in every field, be it sports or technical education.
Naveen Jaiswal, MLA Hatia said that he is committed to making Ranchi a beautiful, clean and accessible city for Divyangjans.
Divya Kala Mela will conclude on September 8, 2024. In view of the closing of the fair, Divyang shopkeepers are giving discounts on all goods. In this fair, free recreational activities for children and also stalls of various delicious dishes have been set up.
